Reflection

In perspective of my project, it seems to me a practical experience of making a real time stand alone Web-based production. This project has provided me an opportunity of thinking about the real audience and their particular need. It is a practical application of my vision what I learned throughout the instructional technology program. I wished to create my production more precisely and more clearly for the audience without facing any ambiguity, if I would have more time, because it is a huge project. Dr. Hammond’s feedback as well as Dr. Bishop’s feedback along the way has helped me to create my production at this level.

Concerning other classmates’ project, each classmate has a very distinguished project that provided me a real life K-12 and various learning set-up experience. I enjoyed everybody’s presentation and thoughtful experience what they shared. Tim’s podcasting project has impressed me the best, because it’s seems to me that he is successful in technology integration in an elementary classroom known from an evidence of elementary kid’s podcast.

In terms of TBTE 415 course, I turns out a whole new World has opened up in front of me. Different fantastic new motivated technology for kids like smartboard, scratch had impressed me the best. Other technology mostly I knew before, but I added more knowledge into that. There are great on-line assessment tools like Quia, Survey monkey for teachers, sharing tool like Delicious, on-line collaboration tool like Skype , on-line presentation tool like Google Docs that was new to me. Lit presentation is an eye opening for me particularly Pew Internet survey has provided me a lot of up to date real life information about education. As a whole, there are innumerable robust motivated technology which an technology savvy educator can apply into their classroom with a thinking of TPCK( technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) to fulfill No child Left behind slogan as well as 21st century requirement.

My field project upgrade

This week I worked on instructional document about table what I just have submitted to Dr. Hammond. I also corrected some previous documents and already sent it to him. I worked on editing document what I will submit later. Now I will start working on last document about graphic, diagram according to Dr. Hammond’s suggestion.

I have to modify a few things of the 3 handouts about getting started, basics and formatting text of Word 2007 what I made for the Word How 2s instruction. Another 2 handouts about editing and adding table in the document are under construction and mostly have been finished. I will send Dr. Hammond those as soon as possible.

I worked on my Web-based Instructional Project ‘Word 2007 How 2s’ over last couple of days. I just finished 3 handouts about Word 2007 How 2s. and emailed to my Instructors about the 3 handouts. I think these Webbased Instruction will be helpful for students who are enrolled in TBTE 406 course in Lehigh University.

I will help Dr. Bishop, professor of Educational  technology, Education department of Lehigh University for her TBTE 406 course (Tools for K-12 teaching and learning) of Educational technology graduate students of Lehigh University to prepare office 2007 based How 2s instructional materials.The learning goal of TBTE 406 course (Tools for k-12 teaching and learning) is the application of technology in school-based Instructional setting. This course addresses the use of technology tools and resources to enhance and foster learning. Students will demonstrate skills in design and demonstrate Web sites, Evaluation and use of Instructional software, production and integration of digital media and other digital components.

Most of the students use MS word 2003 and 2007 for any writing document. Some may use iWork for Macintosh. Word 2007 just has been released few months ago. Most of them are not much aware of new version of MS Word that has been changed a lot compared to older version, 2003.

It is a supporting guidance for using new version of word 2007 for the students of TBTE 406 course of Educational technology graduate degree level students of Education Department in Lehigh University. They already started their fall semester course. Most of the students who are enrolled in EDUC 406 course most probably know how to write a normal word document, save and print it out. But some may not know how to use it more efficiently. Some may not be aware of word 2007. That is why this project will be helpful for them.

I will supply my first handout by the end of month of October, 2007. As soon as possible I will supply my other handouts.

Field placement

I have an opportunity to work with Dr. Bishop for this project. She was looking for someone who can create print based materials (text with screen shots) on How to use word 2007. These print based .PDF files would be used to accompany/ supplement her existing word 2003 videos.  I already have started working on it. Now I am writing a word document and couple of screen shots along with it.
